IED Airsoft

Site Safety & Gaming Rules

General Site Rules.

1) All rules as indicated herein apply to all visitors without exception.

2) The term site refers to the gaming areas & all other properties owned or leased by the Company.

3) The term Company refers to IED Airsoft as part of IED Outdoor & Survival.

4) The Partners of the Company, their nominees & representatives reserve the right to refuse admission &/or exclude any individual or group from the site without explanation.

5) All persons must book in on arrival to the site.

6) The Partners decision is final in all instances.

7) All sites used by the Company allow some public access. Due to the isolated locations it is unlikely that members of the public will be encountered. The boundaries of the sites are marked, in most cases by wired fences, & warning signs are posted at any access points. Should any members of the public appear they must be treated with respect & courtesy.

8) Cars are parked at owners risk. The Company will not be responsible for any losses whatsoever from vehicles parked at the site.

9) All players must sign an insurance waiver before commencing play.

10) Minimum age limit is 17 years old.

11) The isolated location & size of the site require the use of audible whistles as an emergency procedure. Six whistle blasts is the international emergency signal. If this signal is heard return to the safe area immediately.

12) Respect the environment & follow the Countryside Code,

Make no unnecessary noise.

Guard against all risk of fire.

Fasten all gates. Keep to public paths across farmland.

Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls.

Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone.

Take your litter home.

Help keep all water clean.

Protect wildlife, plants and trees.

Take special care on country roads.

Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work.

13) All litter shall be taken home by player & not discarded on the site.

14) Two of the sites are owned & managed by the Forestry Commission & all players must respect the living environment by not deliberately damaging live trees.

15) Players are responsible for their own health & safety. They should be aware that IED Airsoft sites present certain hazards intrinsic to an isolated rural location. IED Airsoft reserves the right to refuse entry to refuse admission to any persons without adequate suitable kit in the interests of their own safety.

16) Edged weapons & tools are permitted on site for the purpose of constructing shelters, OP’s & fighting positions. They shall be used in a safe manner & players are legally responsible for carrying them. Anyone using edged weapons in a threatening manner will be ejected from the site & a full complaint made against him or her with the Police.

Airsoft Gaming Rules.

17) All players shall obey any instructions given by the Partners, their nominees or representatives.

18) The Site Safety Officer (SSO) will give a Safety Brief before the start of play. All players must ensure they are on site & booked in at or before the specified time. The SSO is a representative of IED Airsoft & will be obeyed at all times. His decision is final in all instances concerning site safety.

19) All players when handling an airsoft weapon shall obey the BASC Air gunners Code of Conduct at http://www.basc.org.uk/content/airriflepractice. There will be no discharging of airsoft weapons within 50ft of any public highway.

20) Safe Areas will be identified to players at start of play. When in a safe area all weapons must be unloaded, magazines removed & made safe. A member of staff will identify a test firing range.

21) Abusive &/or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. Anyone behaving in this manner will be ordered back to the safe area. They will be allowed to rejoin the game after a suitable ‘cooling off’ period. Any repeat of abusive or aggressive behaviour will result in that person being ordered to leave the site immediately.

22) Eye protection is mandatory & must be worn at all times outside of the safe areas. It is recommended that full-face protection be worn by way of a paintball type face mask or a mesh face mask. As a minimum suitable CE approved shooting glasses must be worn.

23) IED Airsoft use passive & active marshalling within the game. Marshalls are representatives of the Company & must be obeyed at all times. Any complaints regarding the conduct of any Marshall must be reported immediately to either of the Company Partners.

24) The velocity limits for all IED Airsoft sites are 350fps for AEG weapons & 500fps for single shot sniper rifles subject to a +10% accuracy factor for crono readings. All weapons will be subject to crono checks & the Company reserve the right to spot crono check any weapons during play.

25) The only ammunition to used shall be plastic BB’s. These must be biodegradable with a maximum weight of .36g.

26) The use of pyrotechnics is allowed on the site. Detonation of an explosive pyrotechnic within 3 metres of a player is deemed a hit. Any persons bringing pyrotechnics onto the site must declare them to the Site Safety Officer for clearance. During extended periods of dry weather the use of pyrotechnics might be suspended due to fire risk. The Company shall advise all players prior to the start of an event as to any limits on the size & power of any pyrotechnic to be used. This applies in particular to weekend events. The forum will provide details.

27) No one under 18 years of age shall use pyrotechnics in accordance with UK law.

28) Anyone inexperienced in the use of pyrotechnics intending to use them must declare this to the Site Safety Officer prior to the start of play.

29) Airsoft gaming relies on the honesty of players. Anyone reported to the Company representatives, as not taking ‘hits’ will be monitored by the Marshals. If a player is found to be ignoring ‘hits’ they will be removed from play & briefed on the rules of the particular game. Persistent cheating will result in that player being asked to leave the site.

30) IED Airsoft uses ammo limits for most of its game scenarios. See here for relevant info.

31) Short-range engagements can be dangerous in intensity. IED Airsoft recognises the commonly used ‘bang’ rule. If an enemy is within 4 metres call ‘bang’ to indicate they have been engaged & hit.

32) Deliberate head shots are not permitted. However, if your target is deliberately using this rule to gain advantage you may engage them. Do not use overkill on your target.

33) IED Airsoft believes in as realistic gameplay as possible. We use basic medic rules in most games. These can be viewed here.
